Tribute Scholarship

There are just a few moments in our lives when generosity, compassion, initiative and purpose come together all at once. This is one of those times and the Lourdes Foundation is so proud and thrilled to be a part of this. I have the honor of introducing you to Tim Carroll’s Trek, an astounding and physically demanding 2600 + mile trek on the Pacific Crest Trail (starting in southern California at the Mexican border up to the USA/Canadian border).   Tim finished his Trek to honor his father, Mike Carroll, a former Rochester Catholic Schools teacher and Lourdes High School coach.

Tim, a 2003 graduate of LHS, a Luther College graduate with a major in geology, an Eagle Scout and current employee of AmeriCorps has established a Tribute Scholarship in his father’s name.  The Mike Carroll Tribute Scholarship will help students in need at LHS with tuition assistance.

Tim's journey began in April of 2010 and ended in September of 2010. Through the Lourdes Foundation web site, you can relive Tim's trek, learn about his journey on his blog, view his photos and even write to him.

More importantly, you can support him with your financial gifts.  All gifts are tax deductible and will help fund The Mike Carroll Tribute Scholarship. Congratulations on your amazing accomplishment Tim!
